In addition to our kayak and paddle board rentals, tours, and classes, we offer laid back comfort aboard our pontoon boat. Relax and unwind as one of our experienced captains leads you on your next adventure. This is what we do on our days off — so we figured we’d offer it to you!
Our sandbar tours in Key West are customized to include kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding (on your own), and a sand bar hangout. Chill out and enjoy the beautiful Florida Keys scenery on an eco Key West boat tour that’s fun for the whole family!

We go rain or shine! The captain will contact you if we feel the weather is unsafe or just won’t be a fun experience. If WE cancel, full refund. If YOU want to cancel, please do so by 5:00 p.m. the day before. Don’t be afraid of fun!

We typically travel about 30 mins away via boat to a mangrove habitat. Google map: Mud Keys, Jewfish Basin, Snipes Keys to get an idea of where we go.
Actual location depends on many factors primarily tides and weather

Look for dolphins, sharks and turtles on your way out!
The mangrove habitat is home to many different species of fish and birds
You’ll paddle around on your own but the Captain will be nearby to help with identification of species

This tour is great for all ages!
You can bring up to 6 people (including kids) per US Coast Guard regulations on this private tour. Have more than 6? email info@lazydog.com and we can get a 2nd boat for you.
Dogs welcome!! Our Captains have dogs so please let us know if they should leave their dogs behind. It’s no problem!
This tour requires you to enter and exit the boat via ladder. Guests should be physically active.
You must know how to swim to participate this and any water activity.
There is no bathroom on the boat. You can use the bathroom at the marina before and after tour and well, nature’s bathroom during the trip,

We provide water, kayaks/paddleboards (you’ll tell us which you prefer), floating pads and plenty of room in the cooler for anything you’d like to bring. Such as sandwiches, snacks or more exciting beverage choices (wink wink). There’s plenty of shade on the boat as we have a bimini that covers 1/2 of the boat.

You should bring: sun protection (hat, long sleeves, sunglasses, reef safe sunscreen) and a sense of adventure!
We went out for a morning boat tour with Heather and had what was possibly the best day of our vacation in Key West! 1/2 of our group paddled and the other 1/2 kayaked and then we enjoyed peacefully lounging on the crystal clear sandbar before heading back! We’d definitely do it again and recommend to anyone coming to visit!

It was a great experience. Loved the boat captain Lindsay. They bought us kayaks and paddle boards on the boat and even a floating Lilly pad. We enjoyed the sandbars so much we are thinking of doing it again before we leave.

Booked the 1/2 day pontoon boat cruise and had the time of our lives. We have been on many many similar tour experiences and this one easily stands tall above the rest. Heather was such a gracious captain and host, and so knowledgeable about the local ecosystem and wildlife. She picked the perfect sandbar away from the crowded glut of party boats and we had paradise all to ourselves. Well maintained paddleboards, kayaks, floating platforms and snorkeling equipment were laid out for us, and the ability to choose our own adventure activities for the day was invaluable to the enjoyment of it. The best tour of it's kind, thank you Lazy Dog!

Today we did the backcountry boat tour with Heather, our captain. We had the BEST day!! She took us on a lovely boat ride way out to some quiet mangroves, where we snorkeled and played for hours! It was so much fun! Even got to see some small sharks and a sting ray. We wanted a relaxing, easy going day and that’s exactly what Heather had for us. A great way to explore the islands!! Highly recommend!!! 🏝️😍
