Along with your experienced guide, paddle at a relaxing pace and explore the shallow, calm, blue-green waters and mangrove tunnels of the Key West backcountry.

You will glide through the winding mangrove creeks and paddle through inches of water, where you can easily view and learn about the geological structure of the Keys along with its inhabitants, all from the comfort of your kayak.

Your adventure will give you a chance to view the mangrove environment up close, along with its marine life including tropical fish, crabs, sea stars, jellyfish, sea cucumbers, sponges and various aquatic birds. Every trip leads us on a different adventure!

Kayaking through the serene mangroves was an incredible experience! The peaceful surroundings and diverse wildlife made it a truly immersive adventure. Our tour leader, Betty from Lazy Dogs was fantastic — knowledgeable about the ecosystem, safety-oriented, and passionate about conservation. Her guidance and enthusiasm added so much value to the whole experience.

We took the Key West Kayak Eco-Tour with Lazy Dog for the second time this past Saturday, and it will not be our last. It’s relaxing and informative, and the routes taken vary between guides, time of day and year, etc., so it is well worth a repeat. The scenery is beautiful and the natural tunnels through the mangroves seem other-worldly. I highly recommend this tour to any and all planning to visit the Lower Keys!

This was an unforgettable experience. I’d learned of the Florida wildlife and ecosystems in my environmental classes in college and I got to experience it in real life! Our tour guide was very lively and funny. He had a lot of knowledge and experience, so everyone enjoyed his stories. The water was so clear and blue/green, I just couldn’t believe my eyes. Although it was early in the morning, I’d do it all over again. Also, the Lazy Dog has really cute stickers and shirts at their shop! Overall, I had an amazing time. Thank you!

I’ve been to 22 countries and traveled all over the US. This kayak tour was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! Ellen was a fantastic tour guide and shared all kinds of fascinating information about the mangroves and the wildlife. We saw a blue heron, green heron babies, snowy egret and magnificent frigates (Ellen’s favorite bird)! We also got to hold jellyfish that didn’t sting us! And we even saw manatees! Ellen was great at spotting the manatees. We came across them three different times including a family with a baby calf! Just an incredible tour! Don’t miss this one if you’re in Key West!

An amazing day full of memories on our girls trip/sisters trip. Our guide was amazing, friendly and patient when it came to some of us being beginners. Definitely book, you will not be disappointed!

We did a Mangrove Kayak Eco Tour during our Key West vacation last year and loved it to much we came back again this year! This year's guide, Leia, was fantastic. Friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable about all the wildlife! We kayaked through red mangrove tunnels and saw iguanas, nurse shark, crabs, a manatee mom and baby, cormorants, pelicans, and upsidedown jellyfish! HIGHLY recommend and appropriate for all skill levels.

We had an amazing time touring with Lindsey. She was super knowledgeable and was able to show us many different types of sea life up close. The mangrove tunnels were spectacular. Overall a great experience and would come back.
